Floyd Byron Smith,
61, died in Okmulgee on Wednesday, April 29, 2009.
Byron was born on August 30, 1947 in Okmulgee to Lloyd Byron and Viola
Evelyn (Hayden) Smith. On December
27, 1982, he married Lana D. Beachel in Larned, Kansas.
Byron was a council member and a church member of The Cornerstone
Foursquare Church. He coached boys
baseball, loved fishing, and having coffee and donuts with his brother-in-law.
Byron was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Viola Evelyn
Tolbert, and a daughter, Destiny Smith.
He is survived by his mother, his wife, Lana Smith of the home, daughter,
Tiffany Foreman and husband Dusty of Okmulgee, two sons; Floyd John Smith of
Lexington, Oklahoma, and Floyd Byron Smith, Jr. and wife Wendy of West Towakoni,
Texas, two brothers; Robert Smith and wife Chiquita of Tulsa, and Hank Smith and
wife Marlene of Okmulgee, two granddaughters; Dana Smith and Danyelle Smith both
of Okmulgee, and a step grandson, Bryce Foreman of Okmulgee.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009, at 10:00 A.M. at
the Morris Cemetery Chapel.
Officiating will be Pastor Jim Birch.
Casket bearers are Dusty Foreman, Tommy Wittman, Donnie Vaughn, Jimmy
Dale Wittman, Terry Wittman, and Bobby Smith.
Viewing will be at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home on Sunday, May 3,
2009 from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
