Glenda Horne
Glenda Jo Horne, a
lifetime resident of Okmulgee, died in Tulsa on July 21, 2009 at the age of 59.
She was born July 6, 1950 in Okmulgee.
She owned and operated a cab company in Okmulgee for many years and was a
member of the VFW Post 1189 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed bowling, playing pool and especially playing cards, but was
most fond of the time she spent with her grandchildren and the love for her
cats. Glenda married Jim Horne on
July 6, 1993 in Okmulgee. She was
preceded in death by her grandson, Levi Wilson.
Survivors include her husband of 16 years, Jim (Hoppy) Horne, of the
home, a daughter, Glenda J. Wilson of Okmulgee, two grandsons, Michael and Jake
Wilson, both of Okmulgee, and her mother, Billie J. Stitzel and husband Mervin
of Okmulgee. Glenda’s extended
family includes a daughter, Gayle Fields and husband Mike of Sayre, sons, Steven
Horne and wife Patty of Okmulgee and Jeff Horne and wife Katie of Henryetta,
thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren along with a host of
friends and relatives. Graveside
services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, July 24, 2009 at the Okmulgee
Cemetery with Reverend Lawrence Matlock of the Calvary Baptist Church
officiating. Casketbearers will be
Michael Wilson, Jake Wilson, Steven Horne, Jeff Horne, Mervin Stitzel and Larry
Horne. Friends may visit the
funeral home on Friday from 10-2.
Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of
Okmulgee.
