Christine Willie Berryhill

Christine Willie Berryhill, 56, died Friday, January 2, 2009 at her Okmulgee home.  She was born August 25, 1952 in Claremore, Oklahoma to George and Maryland (Harjo) Willie.  She worked for many years as a cook at Creek Nation Tulsa Bingo and later as a cashier at Wal-Mart.  Christine was a member of the Big Cussetah United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Samuel, Johnnie Lee, and Darvin Wayne Willie.  Survivors include her daughter, Angela Berryhill, two sons, Lindell Berryhill and Brandon Berryhill, seven grandchildren, Dustin, Christopher, Jeremy, Maurice, Krystal, Elijah and Braden, three great grandchildren, Skye, Malakai, and Kaylin, and three sisters, Georgia Layton, Carolyn John and Katherine Willie. 

A Wake Service will be held 7:00 P.M., Sunday, January 4, 2009 and Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2009, both at the Big Cussetah United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow in the Big Cussetah Cemetery under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.  Casketbearers will be Butch LaSarge, Charlie LaSarge, Wotko Long, J.R. Haney, Chebba Tarpalachee, and Ivan Bear, Sr.  Honorary Casketbearers will be Dustin Harjo, Chris Harjo, Jeremy Berryhill, Maurice Coleman, Malakai Harjo and Braden Berryhill.
