Blanche Yeager Beaver, 75, was a longtime resident of Morris, Oklahoma and later moved to Lawrence, Kansas due to health reasons. She passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Lawrence. Preceded in death by her parents, Reverend James and Rosie(Alexander) Yeager and a sister, Mabel McNac of Morris. Blanche was born on November 19, 1934 in Seminole, Oklahoma. She was married to the late William (Oscar) Beaver. Survivors include six daughters and sons-in-laws; Della Beaver Walking Sky and husband Corbett of Mesquite, Texas; Anita Beaver Daney and husband Steve of Lawrence, Kansas; Reta Beaver Brewer and husband Richard of Lawrence, Kansas; Leila Beaver of Lawrence, Kansas; Karen Beaver Geyer of Lawrence, Kansas; Terri Beaver and Nelson Begay of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Other survivors include two brothers; Newman (Moon) Yeager, Las Vegas, Nevada and James (Chockie) Yeager, Jr., Okmulgee, Oklahoma; one sister, Elizabeth Coker, Seminole, Oklahoma and a host of other family members and friends.
Blanche graduated from Eufaula Boarding School and Haskell Institute. She then attended Tulsa University and later married William (Oscar) Beaver soon after. Blanche worked for the Federal Civil Service for over 20 years. Employment began at Chilocco Indian School, then at Carter Seminary-Ardmore, OSU-Okmulgee Tech, Muskogee Area Office and she retired from Tinker Air Force Base.
Wake services will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, February 7, 2010 at the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel in Okmulgee. Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 8, 2010 at Big Cussetah United Methodist Church located outside of Morris, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be William (Buddy) Beaver, Gino Berryhill, Anderson Berryhill III, Brant Beaver, Brent Beaver, Del Beaver, John Beaver, Drew Wittman, Kyle Wittman and Gerald McNac.
Arrangements are under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee.
