Joean Yakovac

Joean Guest Yakovac 87, a longtime resident of Okmulgee, died in Okmulgee on Tuesday, April 7, 2008. She was born in Okmulgee on April 19, 1920 to Guy and Eula (Edson) Guest. She graduated from Okmulgee High School. Joean was well known in Okmulgee. She was manager of the Okmulgee Retail Merchants Association for over 30 years. She was also active with the Business and Professional Women’s Club and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church Altar Society. She married Anthony B. Yakovac April 1, 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter in law; Sherry Phillips.

Survivors include her husband; Anthony Yakovac of the home, one son; Steve Phillips of Okmulgee and a granddaughter; April Sumnar of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be on Friday, April 11, 2008 at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel at 10 AM. Fr. Benjamin Vima will officiate. Interment will be in the Okmulgee Cemetery.
