Paul F. Jones
Paul F. Jones was born January 19, 1937
at Vinita, Oklahoma. He was the son of Arthur E. Jones and
Pansey Whorton. Paul went to be with the Lord, Thursday,
March 13, 2008 at his home in Beggs, Oklahoma, at the age of
71 years old.
Paul was a long time resident of Beggs,
Oklahoma. On September 2, 1966, Paul and Darlene were united
in marriage in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. They operated a small
ranch in the Beggs area for many years.
Paul had many interests; singing,
restoring John Deere tractors, hunting, fishing, raising
bucking bulls, draft horses, and registered Bluetick Coon
Hounds. Many of his interests lead to employment. He was
known for auctioneering, singing, and order buying cattle.
He was also Master of Hounds for the United Kennel Club.
As a young man he enlisted in the Navy,
where he received his G.E.D. and learned to weld. After a
tour in the Navy he enrolled in OSU Tech where he received a
degree in the Auto Body Department. This was very useful in
restoring John Deere tractors in later years.
On February 23, 1958 he accepted Jesus as
his Lord and Savior. A short time later he dedicated his
life to preaching the Gospel. He received licenses with the
Assembly of God and Pentecostal Holiness Churches. The
ministry took Paul and Darlene to many churches and
developed many lasting friendships.
The Lord has blessed them in many ways.
One they both cherished is the time spent at Sycamore Bay,
fishing and visiting with friends.
As well as friends the Lord blessed him
with family he loved.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents
Arthur E. Jones, and Pansey Whorton, and one sister Ruth
Stroup Linton.
Paul is survived by his wife, Darlene
Jones, of the home, two sons; Tim Jones and wife Linda of
