Carol Childers
Carol Lynn Childers, 61, a resident of
Okmulgee, Ok passed away at Saint Francis South Hospital on
January 29, 2008. She was born in Okmulgee, Ok to Ethel
Mabel Morgan and Clifton Forbes on March 16, 1946. Carol was
a homemaker; also she worked for Headstart in the 70’s. She
was highly esteemed at Highland Park Manor in the 80’s, but
because of her health problems of polio and severe
scoliosis, she could no longer perform manual labor. Carol
enjoyed taking care of her home and family. It was her
hearts desire. She was preceded in death by her husband of
45 years, Chester Maloy Childers, her mother Ethel Mabel
Morgan and son in law; Kelly Joe Maxwell.
Survivors include one sister Debbie Brown
and husband Joseph Brown Sr. of Okmulgee, one brother David
Morgan and wife Rebekah Morgan of Okmulgee and several
nieces and nephews. She had three daughters; Pamela Lynn
Maxwell of Schulter, Ok, Jo Carol Childers also of Schulter,
OK, Brandy Nichole Childers of Muskogee, OK and one son;
Anthony Maloy and his Wife Ginnafer Childers of Okmulgee,OK.
Two step-daughters; Sharon and husband Charles Bramel of
Okemah, OK and Virginia and husband Jim Wilhite of Vian, OK,
four granddaughters; Amber Brown Vinyard and husband Kevin (Buddah)
Vinyard Sr. of Okmulgee, Amanda Brown Talley and husband
Brad Talley of Schulter, Summer Maxwell Vinyard and husband
Kevin (Jr) Vinyard of Okmulgee and Starla Maxwell of
Okmulgee,, five great grandchildren; Kevin Vinyard Jr.,
Kameron Vinyard and Angel Vinyard, Kaydin Vinyard Dravyn
Vinyard all of Okmulgee.
A Memorial service will be held on
Friday, February 1, 2008 at 10 am at the McClendon-Winters
Funeral Home in Okmulgee. Brother Ernie Margwarth will
officiate.
