Stella Benson

Stella Jones Benson, 100, died Friday, June 27, 2008 in Okmulgee. She was born on September 14, 1907 in Scranton, Arkansas to John H. and Callie Irene (Loyd) Jones. On September 15, 1928 she married Edward Benson in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Stella retired in 1972 from teaching. She enjoyed the flowers in her yard, sewing, and she belonged to the Church of Christ, OEA, and NEA.

Stella was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson, Clint Benson and one granddaughter, Kaleen Benson, and son-in-law Dave Martin.

She is survived by her son, Philip Benson and his wife Shirley, a daughter, Paula Martin, grand children; Margra Scheibe and husband Bob, and Kevan Benson, all of Okmulgee, Beverly Kiehl and husband Tracy of Morris, seven great grand children and three great great grandchildren.

Services will be at the Grand Avenue Church of Christ, Monday, June30, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Armando Gonzalez officiating, assisted by Mr. Paul Arnold. Interment will follow at the Okmulgee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tracy Kiehl, Bob Scheibe, David Scheibe, John Scheibe, Kevin Copeland and Guy Kiehl. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevan Benson and Hayden Scheibe. Viewing will be on Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M and Monday until noon.
